The Greater Lowell Dart League is
a steel-tip format dart league comprised of over 500 shooters playing in clubs and pubs in
Lowell, Massachusetts and surrounding towns within a 15 mile
radius. All regular match competition
throughout the year is scheduled for Tuesday nights. The league
is currently divided into four major divisions -- A,
B, C, D. In addition to the four major divisions shown
above, the league schedules up to six subdivsions of competition
within each of the major divisions.
The league offers three seasons of play which include a 10-week
Fall season (plus 5 weeks of playoffs) that runs from September
through December (ending the week before Christmas), a 10-week
Spring season (plus 5 weeks of playoffs) from January through
May, and a 10-week Summer season (no playoffs) from June through
August. The Fall and Spring seasons include four weeks of playoff
competition concluding with separate playoff championship teams
in each of their respective divisions. The Summer season is less
formal with no playoffs and is a good opportunity for new teams
to the league to try out their darting skills. It also gives
darting veterans an opportunity to shoot competetively in the
off season.
The regular match format consists of a total of 11 team points.
One point each is awarded to the winning team in two games of
601 (3-person teams, double start, double finish); three games
of Cricket (2-person teams - the calling of the number is not
required); six individual games of 301 (double start, double

of 7 team points. One point each is awarded to the winning team
in one game of 701 (4-person, straight start, double finish);
